Sitewide search plugin released for MU

by @ Saturday, February 9th, 2008. Filed under Uncategorized

Jason has made the One Search WPMU plugin which searches across all blogs on your system. I haven’t tried it myself (yet), but if it delivers as promised, it could be quite the nice add-on.

Crash course

by @ Friday, February 8th, 2008. Filed under Uncategorized

Well, it seems like I’ve had some new visitors around here lately, so I thought I’d give a quick overview. You could also read the “Aboot me” page and the “best of” page, but if you’re like me, then you’re all about the laziest way possible. So I’ll help enable that, okay?

Wheee! Server issues too

by @ Thursday, February 7th, 2008. Filed under Uncategorized

Apologies for the downtime this morning / afternoon. Not sure how long it was down, because when it went down for a while, I submitted a support ticket and had to leave the house. I also upgraded, because homeschooljournal.net eats on massive pile of memory and we’ll have to tweak and tweak and comb through [...]

The pellet stove saga continues

by @ Wednesday, February 6th, 2008. Filed under Uncategorized

Since it has been almost two weeks since our stove crapped out on us, Ron got on the phone again today. He started calling people from work around lunch time, and spent almost an hour on the phone here at home before he could finally talk to someone who knew what was going on.
The control [...]

Twitter and LinkedIn

by @ Wednesday, February 6th, 2008. Filed under Uncategorized

With part of my shift more towards work-at-home-schooling-mom, I pared down some of the networks I was on, and joined a business one.
I’m finding I use twitter more often now that I’m in “work” more, and I find LinkedIn to be possibly quite useful in the near future. (Boy, that was cryptic. )

Ode to my new dryer

by @ Tuesday, February 5th, 2008. Filed under Uncategorized

Oh dryer, dear dryer so shiny and white.
When I open the door, you turn on the light.
So sparkly, so clean, so energy-saving,
You dry clothes in the same time it takes to clean them.*
An averge energy cost of seventy dollars per year,
I can give the power company a kick in the rear…
Since I only plan on [...]

by @ Tuesday, February 5th, 2008. Filed under Uncategorized

If you’ve recently downloaded a newer version of MU, you may have noticed on a fresh isntall that the plguings folder and the mu-plugins folder are not there. Or, maybe you’ve seen them referenced, and fidnign them not where they are suposed to be, got horribly confused. No worries.
There are not there because in [...]

There’s many things in my head. Here’s some of them.

by @ Monday, February 4th, 2008. Filed under Uncategorized

- we went to Freddy Town on Saturday after the storm cleared up. Driving was fine, shopping was okay. We got some fun stuff, it was like Christmas all over again but without the $20 budget.
- we had supper at Wendy’s the fast food place and a basketball team showed up right when we came [...]

Some foods should not be combined

by @ Saturday, February 2nd, 2008. Filed under Uncategorized

Like these.
Now some people like to know where they’re clicking, so put down any food or beverage and I’ll tell you. Ready? Okay.
They are mac-n-cheese nuggets. That’s right, macaroni and cheese. In nugget form.
My kids will eat a lot of strange things, and for Emma, mac & cheese and chicken nuggets are two fo the [...]
