Social networking with WPMU

by @ Saturday, January 26th, 2008. Filed under Uncategorized

BuddyPress was anxiously being awaited by some members of the community, for it promised to really bring social networking functions together under MU. The developer has released the unfinished project back to the community due to lack of time. Something which I can relate to.
As an alternative, there is also the Xiando Social Networking plugin [...]

In case you haven’t heard, WMPU 1.3.2 was released. This is considered a major security upgrade with fixes from Wordpress 2.3.2 and some fixes for MU specifically.
PLEASE NOTE: There’s a new whitelist option in there for plugins that make use of options.php. See here for details, but the short version is some plugins may break.

This is strangely familiar

by @ Friday, January 25th, 2008. Filed under Uncategorized

The issue with the pellet stove persisted, it shutting off after running a few hours. The last time, we hadn’t quite gone to bed yet. One of the other issues is the damper knob opens itself wide after a certain point, so unless it’s closed or barely open, in a few minutes it’s full open, [...]

I am not sure how this happened

by @ Tuesday, January 22nd, 2008. Filed under Uncategorized

All I did was go to a meeting at the clubhouse. The clubhouse / community center down by the dam because there was this important meeting we were called about to decide what was going to happen to the building. Did the community want to continue having it and if so, who was going to [...]

We may be country, but at least we’re cozy

by @ Tuesday, January 22nd, 2008. Filed under Uncategorized

The pellet stove is working overtime as we, like a large chunk of North America, are in a cold snap. Why I have it on good authority (because I looked) that the other night it was a frigid -30 C outside at 3:30 in the AM.

Now we can really settle in

by @ Saturday, January 19th, 2008. Filed under Uncategorized

Boy, I got pretty darn cheesy and sentimental in that last one. At any rate, our brains are now free of thinking of the last house and we can move forward with this one, and all the other plans in my head. I mean, I don’t want to be looking back too wistfully so I [...]

The green house has been sold

by @ Friday, January 18th, 2008. Filed under Uncategorized

We were at the lawyer’s office before 9 this morning, signing a pile of papers. This is closing day. Our keys are turned in, the sold sign has been up for a couple of weeks.
I hadn’t mentioned anything sooner, because it has been a whirldwind of emotions and roller-caster action, and a whole mounting pile [...]

Reader’s Digest - am I in it?

by @ Tuesday, January 15th, 2008. Filed under Uncategorized

I almost forgot to mention. I haven’t had a chance to actually look inside February’s issue of Reader’s Digest Canada, but there’s an article in there on raising A+ students. I was interviewed for it shortly after my surgery last year. I read it before it went to print, but sometimes things change. I [...]
